Granted the budget may be of a concern; however, no 2 hour movie could ever do that series justice. I don't know how you'd pitch that or market it, maybe as Band of Brothers on LSD, but with the right writers there's enough material to create an engrossing series unlike anything else on TV.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7703856341303488608.post-29034975089326535232016-04-28T17:50:02.356+00:002016-04-28T17:50:02.356+00:00A series of books that I've always felt mold p...A series of books that I've always felt mold perfectly for serialization (whether multiple movies or a TV show) is Seafort's Saga, by David Feintuch. He sadly passed away, but he was like a space opera John Saul. Each book in a series of seven (and an eighth that he never finished) had the same pattern, only he found ways of making it emotional and exciting with the same character ageing and being a real man and having to lose everything for it.Sideritehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15900117719824630437noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7703856341303488608.post-90658257593005878262016-04-28T10:19:21.223+00:002016-04-28T10:19:21.223+00:00Apparently a very early option has been taken out ...Apparently a very early option has been taken out on Peter F. Watchmen wasn't that successful of a movie and after GOT, I hope HBO will not immediately go into another series similar to it. First Law (+related), Malazan, Hobb, JV Jones' Sword of Shadows...? Anything by the big SF names (which I've barely read anything of)?

Having just read the first two books of The Foundation (and 50 pages of the 3rd before I quit) I can only imagine it being produced as a wholly re-imagined work where they keep the basic concept but change much about the storytelling and characters.

I'm bummed they missed out on The Expanse. I think that would have been a smash hit at HBO (and the international rights would probably have been better handled!).Johan Sporrenoreply@blogger.com
