Both can be great companions and can make for some memorable characters (if often ancillary).PCBushihttps://pcbushi.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7703856341303488608.post-35706190872148606842016-08-28T23:51:18.616+00:002016-08-28T23:51:18.616+00:00Myau from Phantasy Star is my favourite cat. and t...Myau from Phantasy Star is my favourite cat. and then Cthulhu Saves the World made their own Lovecraft-flavoured version of Myau.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7703856341303488608.post-74596873615964673692016-08-28T18:21:59.576+00:002016-08-28T18:21:59.576+00:00No mention of Anne McCaffrey's 'Talents...No mention of Anne McCaffrey's 'Talents' series, and its prodigious felines? :( Such sadness. Fennel is able to communicate with the protagonist, Fitz, but has no particular affection for him or for anybody else, and has no real plot significance, being entirely focused on sleeping in warm places and being given food. In other words, it's a cat, and the fact it can (sort of) talk to the protagonist doesn't stop it being a cat...

On the subject of anthropomorphic cats, D&D has (had?) a race of rakshasas. Technically, these are demons that can take the form of any anthropomorphised animal (iirc?) but invariable seem to be tigers. They wear impeccable clothing (often smoking jackets going by the illustrations...), and have their hands attached backwards.Wastrelhttp://vacuouswastrel.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7703856341303488608.post-49150952967747672162016-08-22T05:07:26.297+00:002016-08-22T05:07:26.297+00:00Nimitz and and the other Treecats from he Honor Ha...Nimitz and and the other Treecats from he Honor Harrington Series deserve a mention tooAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7703856341303488608.post-28958597612994898552016-08-21T21:34:47.218+00:002016-08-21T21:34:47.218+00:00Great article, as always.
