I could be wrong, but I don't think so- and I could go check somewhere, but I am much too lazy at the moment. Anyway, if anyone is interested in this stuff (you really should be, it's captivating stuff to be sure) I would ignore these books and this series and instead read The War of the Roses series by Conn Iggulden. Amazing books! The Sunne in Splendour is a good one as well. For viewing entertainment, look no further than The Hollow Crown, which starts way back with Richard II (Edward III's grandson or son of the Black Prince himself) and goes to the usurper Henry Bolingbroke and his son Prince Hal. They are of course Henry IV and V. From there it goes to the spectacularly incompetent boy king- Henry VI. Then it finishes with the episodes relating to often debated Richard III.Scara Bandarisnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7703856341303488608.post-25372709737968477212016-06-15T04:24:55.396+00:002016-06-15T04:24:55.396+00:00Personally, I thought the costumes were pretty ter...Personally, I thought the costumes were pretty terrible, inaccurate, and cheep. I've seen some people suggest it might be coincidence, like the ending of Bernard Cornwell's WARLORD CHRONICLES where Nimueh tries to do 'real' magic to summon a storm and it apparently works, but it could also have been a coincidence or she was reading the weather signs. In THE WHITE QUEEN, however, the 'magic' works reliably 100% of the time, to the point that it's never clear why they don't use magic when things go wrong (i.e. when Edward IV gets ill).

The books as I understand are 'better', but that doesn't necessarily make them 'good'.Adam Whiteheadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11383677312079611311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7703856341303488608.post-13523560645626370532013-08-20T00:17:10.711+00:002013-08-20T00:17:10.711+00:00Sweet Jesus...they include *actual witches* with *...Sweet Jesus...they include *actual witches* with *actual magical powers* in a series allegedly - by which I mean, ACTIVELY PROMOTED IN TRAILERS AS - a "historical drama" about the War of the Roses?

Dear God.
