I think the synthesized voice they used in the Audiobook was much, much better.Brettnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7703856341303488608.post-73415503826500639472009-07-13T01:54:12.874+00:002009-07-13T01:54:12.874+00:00Academic guy from MIT writing about fandom and ...Academic guy from MIT writing about fandom and 'convergence culture', how franchises are communicated across a lot of different media platforms, some of them participative, and how they don't replace each others so much as get added to one another to communicate more complex stories to the audience, that sort of stuff. It also helps to explain a little bit about how you were able to write up those awesome BSG summaries of the background that I never figured out on my own. I definitely have some mixed feelings here. In a way, I like how they are allowing fans to explore these fantasy worlds in different media, but when critical plot elements aren't available to the majority of fans that's a problem. Also, there needs to be more infomration available in commercials or before/after show comments or something to let people know what else is going on. Finally, the selection of media can also be problematic. Some media just won't work for some people. I'd love to see books accompany my favorite series, webisodes - great, cartoons - allowable, but I'll never pick up a comic book or game no matter how good it's claimed to be.anrakehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14842021568355465913noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7703856341303488608.post-59253545220021817672009-07-12T08:16:09.007+00:002009-07-12T08:16:09.007+00:00Games are also doing this more and more , Halo / M...Games are also doing this more and more , Halo / Mass Effect / Dawn of War and EvE online all have novels pushing storyline set before or after the events of the gamesAllanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05976148736801707999noreply@blogger.com
