HBO releases first trailer for their WESTWORLD TV series

HBO are producing a new version of the 1973 movie Westworld, adapting it as a TV series to debut in 2016. The new series, like the original, will be set in a futuristic theme park where intelligent robots are used to put on shows for paying visitors.

The original film was written and directed by Michael Crichton and was a significant critical and commercial success. It spawned a sequel, Futureworld, and its own spin-off TV series called Beyond Westworld. The new TV series is a remake and reboot of the original film.

The new series stars Anthony Hopkins as Dr. Ford, the creator of the Westworld theme park. Ed Harris is playing the Man in Black, a villain (who may or may not be channelling the Yul Brynner role from the original film). James Marsden, Evan Rachel Wood and Thandie Newton will also star, whilst Game of Thrones composer Ramin Djawadi will be producing the soundtrack.
