That's deliberate. The fantasy world of the SHANNARA books emerged from a nuclear war that destroyed our world. The books are set about 2,000 years later, but the TV show looks like it might shrink that a lot with more modern clothes and more familiar ruins.
I'm not sold on the dialogue and acting yet, but we've only seen snippets.
I've not seen Manu Bennett in anything else, so that might be his voice; but did anyone else think that he was putting on a bit of a Sean Connery growl?
This could be great, but it looks like another Dungeons and dragons movie. The clothing looks too modern.

The modern clothing is good. It plays up the only non-Tolkien derivative aspect of the series.
ReplyDeleteI know that wert, but it still looks cheap. I dont buy that they would still use skin tight leather clothes in this world.

ReplyDeleteYep, this looks as bad as the books so at least it's faithful in that aspect. To be skipped, for sure.
