A couple of big trailers rolled out today. First up is the trailer for The Defenders, the Netflix/Marvel series which teams up Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist to take on a threat led by Sigourney Weaver.
The Defenders his Netflix on 18 August this year.
Next up is The Dark Tower, a film based on Stephen King's novel series of the same name. The film is both an adaptation of and a sequel to King's novels. If successful, it will be followed by a sequel and a spin-off, prequel TV series.
The Dark Tower is released in cinemas on 4 August this year.
The Dark Tower trailer has made me lose interest somewhat. It looks that they've gone in a Young Adult direction, and seemingly made Jake the main character. I expected some differences from the books, but this might be going too far.
I haven't lost interest in the Dark Tower movie - I actually lost interest in the books after the third one and wikipedia-ed the rest years ago - but it seems a little weird that instead of searching for the Dark Tower, it seems like it's right there and they're protecting it instead.
