Looks like Jackson has done a good job of recapturing the feel of the original movie, and it's good to see McKellen and Holm back in their old roles. Freeman also looks promising as the young Bilbo, and Richard Armitage seems to be doing a good job as Thorin (though he's still a bit more Klingon-esque than I think most people had in mind). Overall, looking good.

THE HOBBIT trailer
We still have a year to wait, but The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey has just had its first trailer released:

Freeman also looks promising as the young Bilbo, and Richard Armitage seems to be doing a good job as Thorin (though he's still a bit more Klingon-esque than I think most people had in mind). I watched this yesterday lunch time at work with no sound (my work PC has no speakers). Without sound, it looks a lot like a Mel Brooks farce, with plenty of comedy looking figures and lots of smoking that will probably come a cropper in local council cinemas where they like to make a name for themselves banning that sort of stuff.
