Spanish cover art for THE WORLD OF ICE AND FIRE

This, it has to be said, is quite tasty:



Interestingly, for a book based firmly on the novel canon, they seem to have gone with an image inspired by the TV show...unless the artist knows something we don't?

Hi Adam. The author of the illustration is Enrique Corominas.
As he explained in his blog, his intention to draw is as follows:

Yes, the new wrought Iron Throne by the king who sits on it, Aegon I, is in the bookjacket. And that same symbol of power and order is the one on the cover, centuries later, become a solitary ruin in a desolate landscape. The throne was born in bloodshed and end in an ice bath or fire.
