The Wheel of Time TV show has given us a brief glimpse at the process of bringing one of the heron-marked swords in the book to life.
In the Wheel of Time world, elite swordsmen - blademasters - wield swords with a heron emblazoned on them to show that the wielder is one of a select few. Heron-marked swords play a key role several times in the novel series.
The Wheel of Time is due to air on Amazon Prime at some point in 2021, following shooting delays due to the coronavirus pandemic. Filming is currently taking place in Spain, having been terminated in the Czech Republic last month, apparently due to the pandemic (although conflicting reports suggest that the Czech leg of filming had simply wrapped on schedule).
