Cover art for China Mieville's EMBASSYTOWN

Here's the UK cover art for China Mieville's new novel Embassytown, his SF book due in May 2011. As usual, the indefatigable Jussi on Westeros.org tracked it down.

Note the new font for the author's name. Apparently this new look will be rolled out over the next few months on all of China's existing books to give them a uniform look, so if you want the existing covers for King Rat, Perdido Street Station, The Scar, Iron Council, Looking for Jake, Un Lun Dun, The City and the City and Kraken (just out in paperback in the UK, btw), you'd better move quickly.

EDIT: Commentator Tom has also pointed out the new UK cover for The City and The City in the same style.

EDIT: These covers were apparently leaked out without the publisher's permission, and are not the final versions anyway. They have been removed at the publisher's request.

I'm liking it.
Do you know Wert if Mieville is going to have these same revised covers shipped in Canada or the US?

Mieville has his own US publishers who'll be doing their own thing. Not sure about Canada.

You can always judge how popular an author is by the title font to author's name font ratio...

Tom, where did you get that cover from? Apparently these are early drafts and weren't meant to be released yet. Some appear to have gotten onto Amazon incorrectly.
