Following some interesting observations on Twitter, I did some stat-checking of my reviews this year based around how many books I have have reviewed from what publishers. The list turned out as:
Gollancz/Orion: 7
HarperCollins Voyager: 5
Orbit UK: 5
Pan Macmillan/Tor UK: 3
Black Library: 3
Panther: 1
Tor USA: 1
David Fickling Books: 1
Quercus: 1
Penguin: 1
So that's 28 in total, 13 of which are 2010 releases. The conclusion I'm drawing so far is that 2010 is the best year for SF&F releases in some considerable time, and we're not even halfway through it yet.
Next up on the to-read pile: Helliconia Summer by Brian W. Aldiss, to be followed by City of Ruins by Mark Newton, Helliconia Winter and The Dervish House by Ian McDonald.

Great stuff. Keep the reviews coming. They are very much appreciated.
It's been a great year so far!
I'd have to agree with you Wert. Especially since the last 2-3 debuts you have given glowing reviews.
When was the last time you saw a year with as many good debuts?
Jennifer
why dont you review the malazan books
Any more Discworld reviews coming up soon?
2008-09 were okay, with a few stand-outs. 2010 has been an excellent year in comparison so far.
MALAZAN rereads are coming later this year, maybe in the autumn.
I may resume the DISCWORLD reviews before then, once I've shifted some more books from the to-read pile.
As a professional reviewer would you say that Gollanz are the "go to" publisher for genre books?

One of them. In the UK, Gollancz, Orbit, Voyager and Macmillan are the four biggest SF publishers and between them they publish most of the SF and fantasy novels in the UK, so those four are the ones whose release schedules are of most interest, although there are other publishers doing work of note, such as Quercus, Corvus, Solaris and the Black Library.
which malazan book would u recommend we start reading the series from the first one is very complicated and i am finding it difficult to keep up with the plot
