Maps, glorious maps

Two excellent maps of fantasy worlds have come to my attention via the excellent Cartographer's Guild forum.

Forum member Gidde created this frankly gorgeous map of David Eddings's world from The Belgariad and The Malloreon, depicting the planet's two major continents:

Forum member Immolate also created this map of the Westlands from Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time novels as part of the June Mapping Challenge for the site:

Excellent stuff in both cases.

quick q wert: did you ever update that gorgeous Malazan map of yours with DoD detail?

The one on Malazanempire? Yes, in the DoD thread, although to be honest there isn't much new information from DoD, just verification of the location of Kolanse and the name of the sea along the Lether continent's east coast and not much more.

One of the guys at Cartographer's Guild is working on a spectacular Malazan world map which looks amazing so far, but work is coming along slowly.
